Village Updates The Village of Riverton, in partnership with Clear lake Township, offers access to community dumpsters for Village and Township residents. The hours of operation are from 8:00 am till noon on the first Saturday of each month. The dumpsters are located at the Clear lake Township garage at 4260 Old Rt. 36. There is a $10 charge per pick-up truck load. The "Field of Dreams" park now has soccer and football goals for use in the park. A parking lot has been constructed for the park. We are still seeking donations to help complete the park. Baseball field equipment, bleachers, a concession stand/restroom facility, fences and walkways are still needed. Thank you for all your support of this project. Please keep all utility meters accessible to our employees for both maintenance and monthly meter reading. Keep all shrubbery trimmed from around the meters. Do not tie up your pets to the meters. If your meter is inside a fenced yard, please leave the gate unlocked. This will allow easy access to the meter in an emergency and during meter reading. Please keep all utility easements free of plantings, fences, sheds, pools, or other structures. Access to these utilities is vital during an emergency. A house number visible from the street is vital to police, fire and utility personnel during an emergency. Not having a house number installed or one this is not visible from the street can add precious minutes in time of emergency. The Village of Riverton Public Works has an automated emergency response system for after hours utility emergencies. If you call the usual village phone number (629-9122) your call will be directed to the employee that is on call in the utility department that has the emergency. There continues to be vandalism and car burglaries throughout the village. Please report any illegal activity to the Riverton Police at 9-1-1 or the police non-emergency number 629-9800.
